How Elevate Handles Your Data

What Elevate stores, what it doesn't, and how your district's privacy setting fits in.

Here's a clear picture of what happens to the information from an observation.

Classroom audio

Your audio is used only to create the live transcript while you record. Elevate does not store the audio as a recording.

Transcript and notes

The transcript and your timestamped notes are saved, so you can build a report from them. When you generate a report, Elevate removes student names from the transcript and notes — replacing them with labels like "Student A," and keeping the teacher's name. See Student name scrubbing explained.

Your finished report

Your report is saved with your district's records. Your private evaluator notes stay separate from the teacher-facing report.

Your district's privacy mode setting

Your district has a privacy mode setting — full_cloud, process_and_delete, or maximum_privacy — that records its preferred level of data handling. A tech admin sets it; see Choosing your privacy mode.

Note: Whatever the setting, two things are always true today: Elevate doesn't store classroom audio, and student names are removed from your transcript and notes when you generate a report.
