If Your Audio or Transcription Fails
Keep your observation going in notes-only mode when transcription has trouble.
Classrooms and networks aren't always perfect. If transcription has trouble during an observation, Elevate is built so you can keep going.
Notes-only mode
If the live transcript stops, you can continue in notes-only mode — your timestamped notes and quick tags still work the whole time. You won't lose the observation, and you can still build a report from your notes.
Quick things to check
- Connection indicator — if it shows transcription isn't connected, your network may have dropped briefly.
- Microphone — confirm your device's microphone is working and Elevate has permission to use it.
- The room — a lot of background noise or distance from the speaker can affect transcription.
For device-level fixes, see Audio and microphone issues and Transcription connection issues.
Finishing up
When the lesson ends, end the observation as usual. You can still generate a report from your notes, even if part of the transcript is missing.
Note: Your notes are the backbone of a great report. Even without a full transcript, a thoughtful set of notes and quick tags gives Elevate plenty to work with.
