Transcription Connection Issues
What to do when the live transcript stops updating.
The live transcript relies on a steady internet connection. If it stops updating, here's how to get back on track — without losing your observation.
Check the connection indicator
While recording, Elevate shows the status of the live transcription. If it shows transcription is unavailable, the live transcript has lost its connection.
What to try
- Check your internet. A brief Wi-Fi drop is the most common cause. Move closer to the access point or switch to a more reliable network.
- Keep the tab active. Leave the Elevate tab open and your device awake during the observation.
- Keep going. Your recording and notes continue working even if transcription drops — see If your audio or transcription fails.
Your notes are safe
A connection hiccup affects the live transcript, not your timestamped notes and quick tags. You can finish the observation and still generate a report.
Note: If you know you'll be observing somewhere with shaky Wi-Fi, plan to lean on notes and quick tags so a dropped connection never slows you down.
