Choosing Your Privacy Mode
What Elevate's privacy mode setting is and how data is handled today.
Your district has a privacy mode setting that records its preferred approach to data handling. A tech admin sets it as part of district configuration.
What's always true today
No matter the setting, every observation works the same way right now:
- Classroom audio is not stored — it's used only to create the live transcript.
- The transcript and your notes are kept so you can build a report.
- Student names are removed from the transcript and notes when you generate a report. The teacher's name is kept.
See How Elevate handles your data for the full picture.
The privacy mode setting
The setting has three options — full_cloud, process_and_delete, and maximum_privacy — which express how much data your district prefers to retain. Choose the one that matches your district's policies and any union agreements.
Requirement: The privacy mode is a district-wide setting. Confirm any change with your leadership before making it.
Where to set it
A tech admin sets the privacy mode in your district settings. See the Setup & Administration guides.
